Raising an army...

Attack on the Granary at Essling. Go, Kaiserliks, GO!!!

...is never cheap, but I have to admit that after being used to paying £1.00 a pop for 28mm miniatures, the idea of being able to buy a reasonably sized wargaming force without having to auction a kidney looks attractive!

So far, I haven't yet chosen which force I want to paint up, but this deal from Baccus looks like a good way to start.

Napoleonic Austrian Army Pack

  • 10 Bases of Foot, each of 24 figures
  • 6 Bases of Heavy Cavalry, each of 9 figures
  • 6 Bases of Hussars, each of 9 figures
  • 4 Artillery Bases
  • 3 Command Bases
  • Pack with infantry in helmet.
Each base of Foot consists of 5 strips of line infantry and one of command. Each mounted base consists of two strips of line and one of command.

Price per pack £24.60. Seems reasonable to me.

The first call to arms will have to wait until next month as I have already used my hobby budget on Minden Miniatures 28mm French for February. But the Austrians always did have trouble financing their armies, if I recall, so at least I'm in character.
